The Institute of Management Consultants Present

Navigating the Media Maze
How Consultants Can ‘Get Known’

Alice Dykeman, Dykeman Associates, Inc., Dallas
Tom Chenault, Chenault Systems, Carrollton

Have you ever wished that you could gain access to news media to promote your consulting activities and get known? Who do you contact? What do they want? How do you approach media types? What can you offer? Will they care? What a maze!

The Public Relations Society of America elected Alice Dykeman to their College of Fellows for her many contributions to the PR profession. Alice founded her own Dallas PR firm in 1974, after directing PR for Methodist Hospital, a federal agency, and two large private firms. She also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Dallas’ Graduate School of Management for six years. Alice knows the way through the ‘media maze.'
She also facilitates networking skill workshops for the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and is active in many other community affairs.

Tom Chenault, Chenault Systems, will provide ‘real time’ insights from the PR client’s perspective. He actively uses PR to expand his IT management consulting business. Tom was with Arthur Andersen prior to starting his own firm eleven years ago.
