Dr. Monica S. Powell

Dr. Monica S. Powell is the assistant dean of masters programs for the UTD School of Management Dr. Powell recently joined the School of Management after nearly 25 years of extensive executive, management and operational experience in higher education institutions in North Texas.

At the School of Management, Dr. Powell is responsible for managing both the full-time MBA program and the School of Management Career Center. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. Powell also maintains and supports the school’s relationship with external ranking organizations such as Business Week, Financial Times and U.S. News and World Report.

Dr. Powell also represents the School of Management with regard to many external academic organizations such as the Graduate Management Admissions Council and AACSB. Dr. Powell also teaches both undergraduate and graduate students.

Dr. Powell has a bachelors and masters degree in communications from the University of Alabama and a PhD in Higher Education and a minor in Communications from the University of North Texas.
